AUSTRALIA AREA APPROVED MUSIC LIST
For the Strength of Youth
Approved Music
Under the direction of the Area Presidency a Music Committee is in place to ensure that music played at Church dances meets the requirements outlined in the "For the Strength of Youth" booklet.
The PDF documents below list the approved music sorted by song title, artist or decade in which the music was recorded. The leader running the dance should ensure that DJ's (or other assigned persons) should only play songs from this list.
The list will be updated every two months and displayed on www.lds.org.au (the Australian Church Website). Also available in PDF is a document that gives suggestions and ideas for a successful dynamic dance.

The approved music list has been refined to bring it in line with Church music guidelines, which is that for Church activities and dances the beat of the music is not to overshadow the melody.  Many songs have been removed from the approved list where it was felt that the beat over shadowed the melody. These song titles can be found in a PDF document on this web page. The list may be refined further over the next few months.

There are many songs on the approved list where either the artist listed or other artists have recorded an up-beat or up-tempo version. These versions are to be avoided as they would fall into the category of the melody being over shadowed by the beat.
