Channel Ten Shows Mormons Celebrating New Year
13 January 2010

Channel Ten News reported recently on New Year’s Eve festivities around Brisbane.  A part of the news report featured young members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints participating in a New Year’s Eve dance.

The report highlighted the fact that the 2,000 young Latter-day Saints had a wonderful celebration without the use of drugs and alcohol, and also without participating in immoral behavior.

Further to the report, all of the young adults awoke early the next morning to take part in several community service projects around the city.  They cleaned a cemetery, a university campus and other parts of Brisbane as part of their five-day convention.

18 to 30 year-old Latter-day Saints throughout the country are involved in regular activities such as these to build friendships, serve in the community, and develop their faith in Jesus Christ.
